Harley Davidson say they can do a stage two conversion on my sportster and turn it from an 883cc into a 1200cc bike. How do they do this?

The bottom end stays the exact same. The piston dimension and the cylinders enhance the diameter. You will recognize a massive variation if the occupation is done proper. It is a relatively effortless process.

They will take the cylinders and bore them out to 1200cc and
put in new cylinder linings, replace the pistons and possibly uprate the carb for more fuel flow to a larger engine.

Bigger ,Pistons, cylinders and heads. The 883 and 1200 top ends are interchangeable. If you want some real power look into S&S top end, probably for the same cost as H.D.

what year 883?
larger pistons
larger bores
larger jets in carb or efi mods
run a supertrapp pipe
a k&n style washable hiflow filter and intake
it’s a simple op in a reliable shop
why stop at 1200 cc?
1450cc is such a sweet number!
spend around a grand!
DO IT IN A RELIABLE AFTERMARKET SHOP and save! dealerships are for RUBZ!

Bore it out, switch out the pistons and some other stuff up top, and leave the bottom alone.
